ShipRush SDK -- How Z-Firm Supports ShipRush
A first-class user experience (for you the developer and for the end-user-shippers) is Z-Firm's intention and goal. This can get tricky when you are supporting your application and ShipRush as well. You probably brought Z-Firm in to be the shipping guru to begin with.
You know your application, and Z-Firm knows ShipRush, so how do we 'draw the line' around who supports what?
Below are the rules Z-Firm Customer Service uses to handle support inquiries related to the ShipRush SDK. We have tuned these over the past years and think they are pretty close to the truth. If you have any suggestions or additions, please post to the forum. We are always looking to improve our procedures.
ShipRush SDK Support:
There are these flavors of support:A) Support for the SDK-consuming developer related to integrating with and using the ShipRush API - This is the programmer using the SDK to automate or integrate shipping.
B) End User support for the final integration (whether used in-house by the SDK purchaser, or used by a downstream customer of the SDK developer) - e.g. the end user of the integration created in 'A' above (kind of like a user of QuickBooks who uses the built in Shipping Manager).
C) All users: ShipRush Core Installation & Operation. Examples (not comprehensive) of ShipRush Core Installation & Operation issues:
1. Does ShipRush install OK?2. On the PC, can the user start ShipRush from the Start menu, does ShipRush go to the system tray, and you can ship OK interactively from the system tray?
3. Printing issues.
4. End of day or carrier questions.
5. Any problem, issue or question that can be observed or experienced using ShipRush from the Start Menu and System Tray.
How Z-Firm Supports These Variations
'A' is provided during the SDK subscription period on the ShipRush SDK private forums at http://forums.zfirm.com. The SDK customer needs to have a user ID and be granted access to this private forum area. If the SDK customer already has an ID on the forums, they can request access to the SDK area via the User Control Panel (User CP) in the forum. Alternately, Z-Firm Customer Service can proactively create a forum user ID, grant it access, and send this ID to the SDK customer. -- Note, the SDK subscription must be current to receive forum support (or any support) for the SDK.
'B' is meant to be provided by the developer who does the integration. Clearly, Z-Firm is unable to support the integration itself, so such support is beyond the scope of Z-Firm support. All end user support of an integrated ShipRush is primarily the responsibility of the developer who performs the integration. The developer then uses Z-Firm as escalation support using this SDK support forum.
'C' Core ShipRush issues are supported by Z-Firm Technical Support via regular Z-Firm support channels: Z-Firm forums (no charge) and via Z-Firm phone support ($55/call, 1/2 hour cap). This is standard ShipRush support, and can be handled via the normal support path, as ShipRush would be supported for any user.
Thank you for using the ShipRush SDK. Let us know how we can help.
